Workers' compensation death benefits.

|

Spouses and other dependants may receive workers' compensation death benefits following a fatal on-the-job accident. Under Georgia law, minor dependants could receive income benefits until they are 22 years old. Surviving spouses are also eligible to receive income benefits up to $150,000. These benefits are paid weekly by the insurance carrier. A workers' compensation carrier can also be required to pay $7,500 in burial expenses.
