How Long Do I Have to Report a Work Injury?

In Georgia, the law technically allows for reporting of a job injury within 30 days of the incident.  However, the longer the time period between the injury and the report of the injury, the more likely it is that the insurance company will deny the claim.  Thus, the best practice is always to report the injury as soon as it happens even if you think the injury is minor.   It is also the best practice to report the injury in writing so there is a record of the report.  Thus, you should email or text your supervisor to report an injury as soon as possible and make sure you have a record of that report.  If you would like to discuss your injury with an experienced workers' compensation attorney, contact Brian H.
