What is a WC-3 Controvert in a workers' compensation claim?

A WC-3 Georgia Workers' Compensation State Board Form is a formal denial of a workers' comp claim. A WC-3 can be filed to deny a claim in part or to deny a certain aspect of the claim. For instance, claims adjusters often file a WC-3 to deny weekly income benefits or medical treatment.

The work comp carrier can also controvert an entire claim if they do not feel the injury is work-related. If you have received a WC-3 Controvert from your adjuster, you almost certainly need to hire an attorney.
