Covid 19 and workers' compensation claims.

In Georgia, it remains to be seen whether workers who contract Covid-19 on the job will be entitled workers' compensation benefits.   Hopefully, the Georgia legislature will specifically address whether worker who contract coronavirus on the job will be entitled to reimbursement for medical bills and lost time.  If the legislature does not address this, then the question will be litigated at the State Board of Workers' Compensation.  California, for example, has specifically stated that certain workers are presumed to have contracted coronavirus on the job increasing the likelihood that they will receive workers' comp benefits.   If you would like to discuss a work comp claim involving coronavirus with an Atlanta workers' comp attorney, contact Brian H.
