Understanding Work-related Shoulder Injuries

Xray of a shoulder injury

Shoulder injuries often occur on the job from a fall or from lifting. Severe shoulder injuries can require surgery. Of course, workers' compensation carriers frequently deny or delay shoulder surgeries to keep down expenses.

In Georgia, If surgery is denied, you have the right to a hearing in front of an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ).  The ALJ will ultimately be the one who decides whether the work comp carrier is required to pay for surgery.
