Late workers' comp checks.

In Georgia, a workers' compensation carrier has to mail a benefits check no later than the last day of the pay period if it is mailed from in state. If mailed from out of state, the check has to be mailed three days prior to the last day of the pay period. If the check is late, the workers' comp carrier owes a 15% penalty on the check. If you an injured worker having trouble getting a work comp carrier to mail checks in a timely fashion, call Atlanta work comp attorney Brian Sumrall at (404) 857-3835 or visit
